Dedrick's Dance District's competition team is an award winning dance program known for its strong foundation and understanding of dance technique, innovative choreography, and quality showmanship & entertainment.

AUDITION INFORMATION/PROCESS:

Parents should schedule a phone conference to receive an audition packet and schedule. Please include 'COMPETITION TEAM INFO' and any additional information in the notes when scheduling.

It is recommended that dancers auditioning have a minimum of 2 years of dance performance experience or a recommendation from two D3 staff members if less than 2 years.

REGISTER FOR AUDITIONS:

Parents can register their dancer thought the parent portal. New members should complete a registration form and select the audition group that applies. Audition times and days will be listed during registation.

AUDITION SCHEDULE:

Auditioning dances should expect to meet at least 2 weekdays & Saturday's during the August audition process.

AUDITION EVALUATION:

Dancers will be evaluated on their technique, execution of choreography, memory, attendance, and overall professionalism and attentiveness when in audition classes.

​

PRACTICE SCHEDULE EXPECTATIONS:

Competition dancers meeting anywhere from 2-4 days a week depending on the number of routines they participate in or hours spent training. The average competition dancer attends class 3 days a week (2 weekdays & Saturdays).

TRAVEL SCHEDULE:

Our competition team travels to regional competitions within North & South Carolina regionals and further out for nationals during the summer. On average we attend 4 regional competitions and 1 nationals.

RETURNING DANCERS:

All parents of dancers from the 2020-2021 competition team will receive an email with information and follow up instructions. All dancers are required to-audition for groups and specialty routines.
